A rescue official says 11 Vietnamese sailors are missing after their cargo ship sank in stormy weather off the country's southern coast.
Bui Ngoc Tri of the search and rescue center in southern Ba Ria Vung Tau province says 12 sailors were rescued by fishing boats after the ship sank early Tuesday morning in high seas about 250 miles (400 kilometers) off the coast.
Tri said Wednesday that the search had been hampered by bad weather.
The cargo ship was en route from Malaysia to Ho Chi Minh City.
