Fears of major fuel spill eased.
A Taiwanese fishing boat, which had been stuck on a reef in French Polynesia’s Tuamotu group, has used a high tide to get dislodged.
The vessel, Da Sheng, with a crew of 26, ran onto the reef of Motutunga near Makemo at the beginning of the week.It caused alarm as there were fears it could leak some of its 200 tonnes of fuel.According to Tahitipresse, the vessel suffered only minor damage and has taken course out of the territory’s exclusive economic zone.Posted via http://batavia08.posterous.com batavia08's posterous
