Mooncusser is an ex-archeologist that works on Cape Cod.
'I was walking north up Marconi Beach in Wellfleet to shoot some wireless radio platforms that were uncovered and found piles of iron at the water's edge, including what looked to be a blade of some kind without a handle.
There was so much metal that the sand directly underneath was fused into a hard sheet. At first I thought the metal picture here were horseshoes but now I think they're anchor chain or some other metal used for ballast in some ship's hold.
This is very common here on the Cape and shipwrecks and their mysterious cargo are constantly appearing and disappearing.
I don't know what shipwreck this pile of metal may be associated with. However, 500 ft. off shore from here was one of the most famous of wrecks, the Pirate Ship Whydah, which sunk in a gale in 1717.'
