Lighthouse festival March 19

Daron Dean -

Join thousands at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum's 19th Annual Lighthouse Festival March 19 for a celebration of community and maritime history.

Admission to the tower, museum and grounds is free from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day. The maritime museum will feature the Second Annual Wooden Boat Show, children's games and maritime crafts, pony rides, live entertainment and refreshments. Children need to be 44 inches tall in order to climb the tower, and an adult must accompany children under 12.

As is part of the annual tradition, the Junior Service League of St. Augustine's Michelob Ultra 5K Run/Walk will be held during festival. The 5K Run begins at 4 p.m. and the Fun Run will begin shortly after. Both races will start and finish at the front lawn of the Keepers' house.

The Lighthouse & Museum's maritime festival will feature hands-on activities for children including the opportunity to buy, build and sail their own model boat. Local entertainers performing throughout the day include Showtime and Billy Buchanan & Free Avenue. New this year guests will have the opportunity to have their photo taken at the Facebook Photo Booth.

There will be paid parking on site and free parking and shuttle at the Elk's Lodge and the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, trolley provided by Old Town Trolley.
