A search and rescue team is still looking for the crew of the KM Karya Rezeki ship as of Tuesday. The vessel sank Saturday in Sasak waters, West Sumatra.
“We are looking for a KM Karya Rezeki crew member named Radi, who drowned because [the ship] was hit by big waves, reaching up to three meters, and strong winds,” Ade Edwar from the West Sumatra Disaster Management Body said in Padang, as quoted by Antara. KM Karya Rezeki carried 480 tons of cargo and 10 people when it last sailed. It left on Friday for Tapak Tuan Aceh. In addition to the strong winds and waves, the ship also had a leak. Nine other crew: Abu Nazar, Herman, Rustam, Nema, Erwin, Hiyut, Daman, Zul Huta Barat, and Buyung had been found alive.Ade said that strong waves were hindering the search.Posted via http://batavia08.posterous.com batavia08's posterous
